SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Caroline Ducharme was named to the 20-player watch list for the 2026 Cheryl Miller Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Wednesday.
The Cheryl Miller Award, in its ninth year, honors the top small forwards in women's Division I women's college basketball. It is named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer.
Ducharme returned to the court in Feb. 2025 after missing nearly two seasons to injury. She has emerged as a vocal leader for the Huskies going into her final collegiate season.
As a freshman and sophomore in 2021-23, Ducharme was a key contributor for UConn. She averaged 9.8 points and 3.2 rebounds as a freshman and was a 2022 All-BIG EAST Second Team selection. Ducharme averaged 7.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
On Tuesday, graduate student Azzi Fudd was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list for the nation's top shooting guard.
UConn alumna Gabby Williams won the inaugural Cheryl Miller Award in 2018.
Fan voting for the Naismith Starting Five awards will begin on Friday, Oct. 31.
