Skyler Bell Named East-West Shrine Bowl "Breakout Offensive Player of the Week"

STORRS, Conn. -Â UConn redshirt senior Skyler Bell (Bronx, NY) has been named the East-West Shrine Bowl "Breakout Offensive Player of the Week" as announced Monday morning.Â
In Saturday's double overtime defeat against Rice, Bell had a career high 158 receiving yards. Bell led the Huskies with eight catches for 158 yards and one touchdown, his fifth time reaching the 100-yard mark this season and fifth consecutive game scoring a touchdown.Â
This season, Bell's 66 catches tie him for 8th in UConn history and is 3rd all time in program history for 100-yard receiving games (9).Â
Bell and the Huskies are back in action Saturday as they face UAB in East Hartford. Kick Off is set for noon.Â
