Huskies Conclude Season at NCAA East Preliminary

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The UConn women's track and field team concluded their competition at the 2022 NCAA East Preliminary meet on Saturday at the Haugh Track & Field at Indiana University.
UConn senior Mia Nahom (New Milford, Conn.) just missed out on a top-12 finish and qualifying spot for the NCAA Championship in the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Saturday afternoon. Nahom was 15th overall in the field, clocking in at 10:06.12.
In the high jump, junior Patricia Mroczkowski (Berlin, Conn.) finished 25th overall. Mroczkowski came in at 1.71 meters and hit that height on her first attempt of the day. She missed on her three attempts at 1.81 meters.Â
During Thursday's competition, senior Emma Chee (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) just missed a NCAA Championship qualifying spot in the pole vault by finishing tied for 13th in the field with Towson's Hayley Horvath. Chee and Horvath along Samford's Brittany Bishop all cleared the height of 4.21 meters. Bishop laid claim to the 12th spot by clearing the height on her first attempt while both Chee and Horvath made it on their second attempts. All three did not clear the next height at 4.31 meters.
Junior Mikyala Rodgers (South Huntington, NY) was 36th in the hammer throw, coming in at 57.18 meters. In the 100 meter hurdles, freshman Jailya Ash (Voorhees, NJ) was 36th in the field clocking in at 13.73 seconds. Classmate Gabby Davis (Franklin Park, NJ) ran the first round of the 400 meter hurdles and finished 45th with a time of 1:04.52.
