STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's track and field team won for the second time this season on their home track at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex, taking the UConn. Northeast Challenge team title.
UConn won five events over the two days and finished with a total of 173 points, finishing ahead of UAlbany in second with 135 points and Brown in third with 77.5 points.
"A fantastic weekend, tough to digest all of it until probably Monday," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Greg Roy. "We just have to keep progressing. The overriding theme today, from all the visiting coaches as well, the competition was exactly what we needed. Didn't have to fly around the country to find it. Everyone was able to get on a bus and come to Storrs and find someone to go head-to-head with. It was just great. And it made us stronger."
UConn also honored their graduating seniors in a ceremony at the conclusion of the meet.
