"We are really excited how our team performed in this race," stated head coach Lindsay re Lindsay Crevoiserat. "We didn't want to put a ton of pressure on this; we just really wanted to see want we could do. And I think we are really happy with where we are at this point."
The Huskies were without senior Mia Nahom (New Milford, Conn.) on Friday but classmates Randi Burr (Westerly, R.I.) and Danielle Jordan (Clifton Park, N.Y.) were strong in their season debuts. Burr was the Huskies' top-finisher with a 42nd place showing, clocking in at 21:14.7. Jordan came across the line in 21:44.3, good for a 64th place finish.
A pair of freshmen followed the senior duo in Jenna Zydanowicz (West Hartford, Conn.) and Caroline Towle (Bedford, Mass.) who were running their first collegiate races on Friday. Zydanowicz came in 65th overall with a time of 21:46.3 and Towle took 67th overall at 21:47.6. Junior Celia Chacko (Windsor, Conn.) rounded out the UConn top-five in 73rd place with a time of 21:51.2
"Randi and Danielle were very solid," stated Crevoiserat. "Our next three in Jenna, Caroline and Celia, two freshmen and Celia who hasn't run a lot of cross country, really closed strong. We were right on the heels of Syracuse (13th) and within striking distance of BC (11th). With Mia in the mix, we are right there. So a really solid showing."
"End of the day, we had a very good showing, not far off from some nationally ranked teams," commented the head coach. "We are not that far off from where want to be and we didn't have our full team. We are headed in the right direction."Â

"We would love to get another race in and we will do the best we can to make it happen," said Crevoiserat. "But I feel really good about where we are at headed toward the Big East Championship."
