Swim/Dive Competes at ECAC Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The UConn men's and women's swimming team competed at the ECAC Championships this weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
Cooper Knapp secured an NCAA B Qualifying time of 47.81 en route to a runner-up finish in the 100 Fly.
"It was a good weekend for our athletes at this meet. We are continuing to see athlete development during the long term, said head coach Chris Maiello. "Our 400 Medley Relay is a great example of this with two freshman, a sophomore and a junior taking center stage. Their 2nd place finish tonight was a highlight, specifically with the lead off of the 100 Back by Caitlin Spencer, which is a career best. It's an exciting time to be a Husky."
The 400 yard medley relay team iof Caitlin Spencer, Amelia Berg, Anna Wenman and Emma Corby captured a runner-up finish in the event with a time of 3:49.50.
Spencer followed up her success in the relay with a fourth place finish in the 400 yard IM with a season-best time of 4:27.82.The freshman also notched a personal-best in the 100 Back with a time of 56.96 and a runner-up finish in the 200 Back (1:59.58).
Anna Wenman posted a personal-best time of 56.39 in the 100 Fly, reaching the B Final for the event.
