Huskies Fall to Fairfield and Fordham

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches over the weekend, falling to in-state foe Fairfield, 6-1 and losing to the Fordham Rams, 6-1.
In Saturday's match-up against the Stags at the Tennis Club of Trumbull, the Huskies got their lone point from freshman Nicholas Gore (Kingston, Jamaica) who won his singles match at No. 5 over Allan Magid, 7-6 (4) and 7-6 (6).
On Sunday, the Huskies got a point from their doubles play. The No. 1 team of junior John Michael Holtmann (Coral Gables, Fla.) and sophomore Christian Provenzano (Montclair, N.J.) got a 6-2 win over Fordham's Fabian Mauritzson and Lutwin de Macar. The team of Gore and classmate Luke Riemann (Cheshire, Conn.) won at No. 3 over Max Green and Jofre Segarra, 6-4.
This weekend the Huskies will head to Hofstra on Saturday and host Siena on Sunday at the Magic Lincer Tennis Club in Manchester, Conn.
