Huskies Fall to Virginia, Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio – The UConn volleyball team dropped games against Virginia (3-0) and Ohio (3-0) on day one of the Bobcat Invitational. The Huskies fall to 3-5 on the season while Virginia and Ohio improve to records of 4-4 and 5-4 respectively.
Game 1
The Huskies battled hard against Virginia in the opening game of the weekend Friday morning. The Cavaliers won in three sets by scores of 25-20, 28-26, and 25-18. Freshman Jasmine Davis recorded her second double double of the season with 10 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore Caylee Parker led the team with 12 kills and added four digs. Redshirt sophomore Courtney Morris helped the offense with 31 assists and recorded nine digs.
Game 2
UConn faced host Ohio in its second game on Friday night. The Bobcats were coming off of a 3-0 victory against College of Charleston earlier in the day. The hosts took a close first set by a score of 25-22, followed by 25-14 and 25-20 wins in the second and third sets. Caylee Parker led the team with 10 kills and added six digs. Redshirt Junior Avery Spaziani led the team in digs with 10 and Courtney Morris supported the offense seven assists.
