Kevin Mensah reaches 1,000 yards rushing on Senior Night

Joins Pindell as first 1,000-yard duo since 2009
EAST HARTFORD, Conn.—The UConn football season hosted the Temple Owls on Senior Night fort the final game of the 2018 season with a final score of 57-7.
On the opening drive of the second half, sophomore running back Kevin Mensah reached 1,000 yards joining his quarterback David Pindell who reached the mark earlier in the season. Mensah and Pindell are the first duo since the 2009 season to do this.
UConn scored on their first opportunity after winning the toss and deferring. Setting up shop on their own 25, Pindell completed his first pass of the evening to Keyion Dixon. He followed it up with another this time to Tyler Davis, that would pick up the first down and then some for the Huskies. A targeting penalty called on Temple's Shaun Bradley would not only dismiss him for the remainder of the competition but would give UConn an additional 15 yards. Mensah strung together several good runs to move the chains and his team up the field. Pindell's four-yard completion to a wide-open Dixon put the Huskies back in contention with the Owls at seven all.
Later in the second quarter, an Oneil Robinson interception wrapped up a Temple drive in its infancy with only three plays, 20 yards, at 1:08.
To conclude the first half, Temple's diversified scoring put them in the end zone on several occasions. The Owls posted six touchdowns, scoring one of those by way of a 99-yard kickoff return.
Pindell led the passing attack for UConn at 12-23 before the quick change placed Steven Krajewski in at quarterback. Hergy Mayala's 32-yards would be the longest for the Huskes on the night as Mensah finsihed the game at 94 yards on 24 attempts. Luke Magliozzi saw action six times with his longest at 55-yards.
Senior night festivities took place before the kick, as UConn celebrated their 20 seniors.
