Huskies compete at Princeton Invite for the first time

Preparing for the American Athletic Conference Championships
Princeton, N.J.—Competing for the first time at the Princeton Invite, UConn's women's cross-country team placed in the top-15 teams with 410 points.
Head coach J.J. Clark said, "We came here today to fine tune some of our other runners, by giving them an opportunity to race here, in preparation for the AAC Championships in a couple of weeks."
In the 6k event, UConn retained 15th position out of 22 total competing teams. Those schools were; Villanova, Columbia, Temple, George Mason, Maryland, Stony Brook, Cornell, South Carolina, host institution-Princeton, UMass Lowell, La Salle, St. Joseph's (Pa.), George Washington, American, Quinnipiac, Monmouth, Binghampton, UMBC, Rider, Towson, and Hofstra.
Top finisher for the Huskies was freshman Randi Burr who tallied a time of 22:51.8. Burr in the opening mile paced UConn in the top-25. Four runners back was senior Courtney Akerley who finished with a time of 22:54.5.
Other finishers were senior Ericka Randazzo (23:09.1), sophomore Katelynn Romanchick (23:35.3), freshman Kate Daley (23:38.1), sophomore Allie Alsup (23:57.5), senior Talia Staiger (23:58.1), Nicole Faucette (24:02.2), and freshman Emma Krebs (24:09.0).

The Huskies will be traveling to the Big Easy in two weeks for the AAC Championship on Thursday, Oct. 25 in New Orleans, La.
