Huskies Grab Three Individual Wins at Sam Howell Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - The UConn women's track and field team took home three individual first-place finishes at the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton University at Weaver Stadium this past weekend.

"Another good team performance," UConn head coach J.J. Clark said, "The sprinters and jumpers did a good job today, winning the 100, the hurdles and the long jump. A solid showing for our distance group as our throwers had off this weekend. I look forward to having a full team next week."
Freshman Taylor Woods earned her first-career first-place title after she won the long jump with a 5.87m leap, her best mark of the outdoor season.
Junior Ashley Wiggins took first-place in the 100m hurdles, boasting a personal record time of 13.98, after she finished second in the preliminaries (14.21).
Senior Taylor Anderson won the 100m dash, coming in at 11.75, which marked her first win in that event of the year.
In the 5000m run, sophomore Haley Hasty set a new PR time of 17:42.30 and fellow sophomore Mary Monda-Oewel finished four-places behind Hasty, coming in at 17:51.44.
The Huskies host their only home meet of the year on Saturday, April 15 at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
