UConn Searches for Third-Straight AAC Indoor Title

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The University of Connecticut women's track and field team will go for its third-consecutive American Athletic Conference indoor title at the 2017 AAC indoor championships on Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday Feb. 25 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Competition for the women will begin at 12:15 a.m. on Friday and will resume at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. CLICK HERE for the 2017 online championship program, which includes a full schedule of events. The awards ceremony will conclude the championship at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The Huskies will search for their third-straight American Athletic Conference indoor title after claiming back-to-back AAC championship crowns in 2016 and 2015. Last season, the Huskies compiled 110 total team points to come out on top, edging out Cincinnati (98.5) and UCF (91.5).
Former Husky Laura Williamson won the 3000m to help seal the victory for UConn in 2016. The Huskies dominated the field in the 800m run final, collecting 28 points as a team. Sophomore Hannah Parker , then a freshman, earned a silver medal with a team-best 2:08.14 second performance, followed by teammates Alexis Panisse (2:08.39), Sydnee Over(2:09.24), Katie Foley(2:10.73) and Emily Howard(2:12.77).
