STORRS, Conn. - UConn swimming head coach Chris Maiello announced the Huskies 2018 signing class on Monday, a class that includes seven swimmers.
Joining the Huskies in 2018 are Grace Ali of Duxbury, Mass., Linnea Anderson of Birmingham, Mich., Catherine Fazio of Township of Washington, N.J., Stefanie Mendizabal of Jacksonville, Fla., Lena Redisch of Bethesda, Md., Katelyn Walsh of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Orry Zayit of Roslyn, N.Y.
"We are really excited about this group of student athletes, said head coach Chris Maiello. "I believe they are exactly what we were looking for. This group is a bunch of hard working student athlete's who's goals match up with our teams goals in the long run. These individuals, along with the other members of the class will have a direct impact on our program next season and beyond."
"We have athletes from around the US and from some strong clubs as well. This class features top end talent who can compete for an individual event conference championship, as well as providing depth that the team needs. To build a championship program we need depth and event winners. I think this recruiting class shows that type of potential. We are looking forward to watching the progress their SR. year and welcoming them to Storrs next fall, said Maiello."
