Huskies Fall at Boston University, 4-3

BOSTON, Mass. - The UConn men's tennis team lost a hard fought 4-3 decision at Boston Unviersity on Wednesday. The Huskies dropped their seventh-straight match of the spring with the loss, falling to 2-8 on the season.
UConn opened the match taking the doubles point, winning at #1 and #3 doubles. Junior Arnaud Valentin (Ridgefield, Conn.) and freshman Hank Hill (Ponte Verde Beach, Fla.) opened doubles with a 6-3 win over Mario Sandoval and Satyajit Simhadri.
Senior Jacob Spreyer (Denver, Colo.) and junior Christopher Toner (South Hamilton, Mass.) clinched the opening point by winning at #1 over Jake De Vries and Jay Leelavich, 6-4.
Toner also grabbed a singles victory, beating Stefan Lemire at #2 in three sets. Lemire won the opening set 6-2 but Toner stormed back for a 6-1 and 6-3 victory. Freshman Justin Warren (Durham, N.C.) won at #4, beating Lucas Bombonatti, 7-6 (3) and 6-4.
The Huskies will host a pair of American Athletic Conference matches this weekend at the East Hartford Tennis Club. UConn will take on East Carolina on Friday afternoon and Temple on Sunday.
