Day One in the Books at Princeton Invite

PRINCETON, N.J - Day one of the Big Al Open, Princeton Invitational, is in the books for the men's swimming and diving team.
Senior Christopher Girg (Burbach, Germany) finished in third-place in the 500-yard freestyle, in a time of 4:35.21.
William Kearsey also picked up a top-three finish, placing third in the 200-yard IM (1:53.89). Mark Hunter (1:55.08) and Matthew Degenais (1:56.76) also swam well in the event, taking sixth and seventh overall.
In the 50-yard freestyle captain James Donlevy (Lake Grove, N.Y.) was the top UConn swimmer, taking seventh in the event with a time of 21.14.
The men's 400-yard medley relay team performed well, notching a third-place finish. The team consisted of Kearsey, Hunter, Donlevy and junior Kyle Kimura (3:25.59).
On the diving side, Dan Kinney (Havertown, Pa.) scored a 270.10 on the 1-meter springboard, taking the fourth place in the event. Teammates Spencer Beaulieu finished in seventh-place, while freshmen Kyle Kennedy collected a ninth-place finish
"Our divers on the men's side competed in the 1-meter springboard," said head diving coach John Bransfield. "Dan Kinney was our top finisher and our three divers all were inside the top-10. The guys will be back at it tomorrow competing in the 3-meter event."
