Girg Recognized as Conference Swimmer of the Week

STORRS, Conn. – CollegeSwimming.com named senior Christopher Girg (Burbach, Germany) as its American Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, after his performance in Saturday’s meet with Brown.
Girg finished in first-place in two of his three events. In the 500-yard freestyle Girg took the top spot with a time of 4:36.18. Then competed in the 1000-yard freestyle for the first time this season and raced to a first-place time of 9:24.64.
Girg competed in the 200-yard butterfly, logging a time of 1:54.82, which was good enough for a second-place finish.
Girg and the Huskies are back in the pool on Friday, Nov. 4 at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium in Storrs. The Huskies compete against conference foe, SMU, at 6 p.m.
