UConn is Back on the Road Against Houston and Tulane

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut volleyball team continues American Athletic Conference play when it visits Houston at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 before traveling to New Orleans to face Tulane on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.
UConn (13-10, 7-5 The American) picked up a pair of road wins last weekend against Memphis and Cincinnati. Junior Jade Strawberry (Tallahassee, Fla.) posted double-doubles in both outings, starting with 10 kills and 16 digs against the Tigers. She had 15 kills and 11 digs when the Huskies pushed the Bearcats to five-sets on Sunday. Sophomore Kenya Cason (Columbus, Ohio) tallied a career- and match-high 21 digs along with 12 kills and three block assists against Cincinnati. Senior Immanuella Anagu (Culver City, Calif.) made the conference's Weekly Honor Roll after she registered a pair of 10-kill matches and a 1.12 blocks per set average on the weekend.
The Huskies are 3-1 in the all-time series with the Green Wave (8-16, 2-10 The American), including a 3-0 victory on Oct. 23 at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion. Cason notched 12 kills and 13 digs, followed by Strawberry with 15 digs and nine kills.
UConn and Houston (15-9, 5-7 The American) have met five times, with the Cougars holding a slight 3-2 lead in the all-time series. Earlier this season, Strawberry led the pack with 10 kills and 13 digs on a .308 hitting percentage while Cason added nine kills and 10 digs as the Huskies swept the Cougars in Storrs.
The Huskies have an 11-2 mark when winning the first set and are currently on a six-game winning streak.
