- The Cardinals have won six-straight games on the road dating back to last season. Louisville has also won nine of its last 12 league games.
- The Cardinals have won 19 of their last 22 games dating back to last season.
- The Cardinals are 8-5 during the month of November under head coach Charlie Strong.
Offensive Notes
- The Cardinals stalled on their opening drive of the game and failed to score for just the second time this season on their first drive of the game. Louisville also failed to score versus Kentucky on Sept. 14.
- Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater connected with DeVante Parker with a 28-yard touchdown pass to extend Bridgewater's streak to 21-straight games with a touchdown pass. Bridgewater has 24 touchdown passes on the season, which ties him with Dave Ragone (2002) for sixth all-time on the school's single-season list.
- With 288 yards passing, Bridgewater moved into third place on the school's all-time passing yards list with (8,692), passing Dave Ragone (1999-02), who recorded 8,564 passing yards.
- Wide receiver DeVante Parker caught his team-leading eighth touchdown pass of the season and the 24th of his career. He has caught 18 touchdown passes in the last 17 games.
- Copeland made his 22ndt consecutive start at wide receiver and also caught a pass for the 22nd-straight game. Copeland caught six passes for 83 yards, marking the ninth time in his career that he has caught five or more passes in a game.
Defensive Notes
- Safety Hakeem Smith started his 47th-straight game at safety, while safety Calvin Pryor started for the 29th-straight time and linebacker Preston Brown the 27th-straight time.
- The Cardinals held the Huskies to 10 points, marking the seventh time this season that the Cardinals held an opponent to 10 points or less.
- Louisville held UConn to 237 yards of total offense, marking the seventh game this season the Cardinals have held an opponent to less than 300 yards.
- Cornerback Charles Gaines tied for the team lead with his third interception and gave the Cardinals 11 on the season, which is the total they had all of last season. They added their 12th and 13th later in the game, when Terell Floyd picked two passes off. The 13 interceptions are the most in the Charlie Strong era.
- The Cardinals forced a season-high five turnovers and have netted 22 this year through nine games.
- Cornerback Charles Gaines returned a block punt seven yards for a touchdown to put the Cardinals ahead 7-0. It was the first punt block for the Cardinals since Champ Lee blocked one versus Pitt on Oct. 13, 2012. The touchdown by Gaines was the third on the season, returning a kickoff, and interception and the blocked punt against the Huskies.
- Cornerback Terell Floyd recorded his team-leading fourth interception and his first two interception game of his career. He returned one for a touchdown in the third quarter for the second interception return for a touchdown in his career. He had an interception return for a score in the Sugar Bowl versus Florida.
- Defensive end Marcus Smith recorded 2.5 sacks, giving him a team-high 10.5 sacks this year. It ties DeWayne White's total of 10.5, which he set in 2002.
