Men's Cross Country Finish First at Conn College Invite

NEW LONDON, Conn.- It was junior Ryan McGuire who once again led the Huskies to give the men's cross country squad a first place finish at Saturday's Conn College Invite at Harkness Park in New London, Conn. McGuire was the first out of 233 runners to cross the finish line and this is his fourth consecutive race to lead the Huskies.
UConn finished the afternoon with 86 points for first place as the hosting Conn College took second with 145 points.
McGuire, this week's BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week, posted a time of 24:53 at the 8K to grab the top seat.
Next to cross the finish line for the Connecticut was Jordan Magath who also tallied a top-10 time with 25:25 for sixth place.
James Agati followed Magath with a time of 25:55 for 17th place, while Ned Wilson was 20th with a mark of 26:03.
The final scoring Husky on Saturday was Stephen Vento with a time of 26:27 in 42nd place.
The Huskies will race at CCSU Mini-Meet on Friday, October 19th at 3:30 p.m.
