Cecco Sweeps NCAA Zone Diving Titles

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - University of Connecticut sophomore Danielle Cecco (Hicksville, N.Y.) completed a terrific weekend on Saturday as she won the one-meter diving title at the NCAA Zone Diving Championship. Cecco also won the three-meter championship on Friday and will now compete in both events at the NCAA national championship on March 17-19 in Austin, Texas.
In Saturday's action, Cecco scored 567.70 points to easily outdistance Sarah Milton of Virginia Tech, who had 507.75 points. Cecco let the event after the preliminaries (six dives) with 287.40 points.
UConn junior Kelly McCauley (Cortland Manner, N.Y.) finished 33rd in the one-meters while sophomore Nicole Borriello (Montgomery, N.Y.) was 47th.
