Crowcroft Qualifies for NCAA Championship in Javelin

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Emma Crowcroft of the University of Connecticut women's track and field team qualified for the NCAA Championship finals as she took sixth place in the javelin at the NCAA East Regional on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C.
Crowcroft qualified for the championships in Eugene, Ore. as she threw for a mark of 156'2" (47.60 meters). Trisha-Ann Hawthorne and Mandela Graves-Fulgham made it through the qualifying rounds and will determine their path to the NCAA Championship during the finals of their respective events. Hawthorne's run of 11.40 in the 100 meter puts her through to the next step of the championship. Graves-Fulgham ran a 53.30 time in the 400 to qualify as well.
Their times were the 10th and eighth overall among 48 competitors, which is the total amount of competitors in each event. Tynisha McMillian finished 21st in the shot put with a toss of 50' ½", while Victoria Flowers' mark of 49' 6 ¼" for 25th place in the event.
In the 800 meter, Leah Andrianos finished in 32nd place with a time of 2:09.68, while Heather Wilson took 35th place in the 800 with a time of 2:09.92.
