NEW YORK, N.Y. - Ryan McGuire (Orange, Conn.) paced the University of Connecticut men's cross country team as they ended the 2010 season with a second place finish at the 102nd IC4A Cross Country Championship in the University Division.
This is the third time that the Huskies have placed second or higher this season, as they opened the season with a pair of second place finishes at the Fairfield Invite and UMass Invite, while also placing first at the Connecticut College Invitational during October.
The trio of McGuire, Jordan Magath (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Nick Aguila (West Hartford, Conn.) once again led the Huskies, finishing one, two, three. McGuire and Magath each finished in the top-10, crossing the finish line just one second apart. McGuire was ninth with a time of 25:57 while Magath was 10th, finishing in 25:58.
Aguila finished just outside of the top-10, placing 12th with a time of 26:02. Dan Bubniak (Danbury, Conn.) was the next to finish for UConn, as he placed 40th in 26:47.
Joe Clark (West Islip, N.Y.) finished 10 seconds behind Bubniak placing 47th with a time of 26:57. The final Husky to run at the meet was Artem Skobrev (Norwalk, Conn.) who finished with a time of 28:26.
