STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut's Carin Knight earned her third All-American title as she took fourth place in the high jump with a leap of 1.83 meters (6'0") at the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Track and Field Championship in Fayetteville, Ark.
The honor is Knight's first in outdoor competition after earning All-American honors twice during indoor championships. The junior adds to a great tradition of high jumpers as she joins three-time All-American Tamika Toppin and five-time honoree Deirdre Mullen among some of the UConn greats.
Knight finished the season undefeated in conference championship meets in both indoor and outdoor contests. This season, the New Rochelle, N.Y. native earned All-America honors in both indoor and outdoor competition as she continued her tremendous junior year.
"Carin was confident and poised for a great meet and pulled it off," said head coach Bill Morgan. "It was just an outstanding effort today."
