Huskies Set For Weekend Competition

The University of Connecticut women's track and field team will begin competition at the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 23, which will last throughout the weekend. Another group of selected athletes from the Huskies' program will travel to Brown University on Sunday to compete in the Brown Springtime Invitational.
UConn is led by a talented group of athletes, including the Huskies' two-time captain and standout in the javelin, Amanda Martin. Martin will compete in the javelin at the Penn Relays, set for a 2:00 p.m. start time on Thursday afternoon.
Other Huskies that will be competing are Lhayana Dallas and Phylicia George in hurdle events, Kate Vaughan in distance events and Carin Knight and Rachael Porter in the high jump.
Freshman All-American Victoria Flowers will compete in three events, including the hammer, discus and shot put.
Jessica Foreman, Trisha-Ann Hawthorne and Monique Hodges will compete in sprint events for the Huskies this weekend. UConn's 4x100, 4x400, 4x200 and DMR will all compete as well.
