PROVIDENCE, R.I. (February 11, 2009) - University of Connecticut senior Lisa Shelps (Quakertown, Pa.) was named the BIG EAST Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Wednesday for her performance in UConn's win over Yale last Saturday in Storrs.
Shelps posted four wins for the Huskies with victories in the 200-yard medley relay (1:47.46), 100-yard backstroke (58.46), 100-yard freestyle (53.03) and set a Wolff-Zackin Natatorium record in the 200-yard IM (2:05.43).
