Nick Majtenyi Of Men's Swimming Carries Olympic Torch

STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut sophomore Nick Majtenyi (St. Catharines, Ont.), a sophomore on the men's swimming and diving team, carried the Olympic torch as it makes its way to Vancouver, British Columbia, for the Winter Olympic Games, which will take place from February 12-28, 2010.

Majtenyi carried the torch at approximately 6:30 a.m. in downtown Whitby, Ontario. The torch relay began on October 30, 2009 and will end at the Opening Ceremonies on February 12.

Majtenyi is a freestyle performer for the Huskies who attended Holy Cross Secondary School in St. Catharines.
