TORONTO (December 30, 2008) -- The University of Connecticut football team arrived in Toronto on Tuesday afternoon for the playing of the 2009 International Bowl. The UConn travelling party left Connecticut on a pair of charter planes with one flying directly to Toronto and another going to Buffalo with a bus to Toronto.
It was mostly a travelling day for the Huskies, who held a brief team meeting in the afternoon after checking into the Sheraton Centre Toronto. The UConn players were off for the night with a chance to check out the sites of Toronto -- the largest city to host a bowl game. The adult members of the travelling party joined their counterparts from the University at Buffalo for a dinner at the famous Casa Loma castle, that was hosted by the bowl.
UConn plays Buffalo on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in the International Bowl and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. On Wednesday, the Huskies will hold the first of two practices at the Rogers Centre.
