McMillian Selected as ECAC Field Athlete of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. (December 11, 2008) - Junior Tynisha McMillian (Bridgeport, Conn.) was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Field Athlete of the Week after she broke her own school record in the shot put at Brown University's Alden Invitational on Saturday, December 6.
McMillian recorded a toss of 15.90m (52-02.00) as her mark was also a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Complimenting that performance was a second place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 17.18m (56-04.50).
The U.S. Naval Academy's Amy Watson earned ECAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after she won a pair of events to lead her program to four dual meet victories in last week's season opener.
UConn will return to action after the New Year when they travel to New Haven, Conn. for the Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 10.
