Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to No. 22 Saint Louis

MUFREESBORO, Tenn. (Nov. 28, 2008) – The University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team (21-10, 10-4) lost a 3-0 (25-15, 26-16, 25-18) match to No. 22 Saint Louis on Friday evening at Alumni Memorial Gym on the campus of Middle Tennessee State.
Rebecca Murray (Carmel, Ind.) and Chauntay Mickens (Germantown, Md.) led UConn with five kills each. On a night when UConn hit for its lowest percentage of the season (0.70), Megan Frey (Chaska, Minn.) and Devon Farrell (Lafayette, Calif.) each hit a .286 clip. Each tallied three kills in seven attempts while committing a single error in the three-set loss.
Annie Luhrsen (Wheaton, Ill.) had 18 of UConn’s 24 assists in the match. Luhrsen contributed four kills and three digs against the Billikens (27-4). Jessica Isaac (Erlanger, Ky.) had 11 digs for a match-best total while Frey was second between the two teams with nine.
With the win, Saint Louis extended its winning streak to 19 matches.
The Huskies play in their final regular season game of the 2008 season on Saturday against Middle Tennessee State. Match time is set for 5 p.m.

· UConn has lost the last three matches this season for its longest losing streak of the season.
· Rebecca Murray has recorded at least a single service ace in each of the last three matches, including two in UConn’s final BIG EAST regular season match.
