Women's Track Continues Competition at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 27, 2007) - Members of the University of Connecticut women's track team continued competition at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Huskies took second in the ECAC Finals of the 4x100m relay. Sophomores Monique Hodges (Wethersfield, Conn.), Jessi Foreman (Wayland, Mass.), Alyssa Evering (Bel Air, Md.) and freshman Phylicia George (Markham, Ont.) combined for a time of 45.83.
Individually, junior Tamara Highsmith (East Haven, Conn.) finished seventh in Championship of the triple jump with a distance of 11.98m.
The 4x200m relay team comprised of Evering, Foreman, Hodges and George clocked in at 1:37.12 to qualify for the ECAC Finals tomorrow afternoon.
UConn will compete in the final day of the Penn Relays tomorrow afternoon.
