UConn Falls to St. John's 6-1
EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (April 12, 2007) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team fell to St. John's, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon at the East Hartford Racquet Club in East Hartford, Conn.
The Red Storm captured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Freshman Joe Goldstein (Tucson, Ariz.) and sophomore Ben Schueler (Arlington, Mass.) battled Louis Desmarteaux and Martin Kosut at No. 1, but fell in a tight match 8-7.
The Huskies only winner on the day was freshman Tom Cook (Pittsford, N.Y.) who captured a 7-6, 5-7, 10-8 victory over Claudio Halim at No. 5 singles.
UConn will take on DePaul on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Storrs, Conn.
