Men's Tennis Finishes Day Two At Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. (October 6, 2007) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team wrapped up the second day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational Saturday with the second round of singles play and three rounds of doubles.
In doubles action, Andrew Marcus (Potomac, Md.)/Tom Cook (Pittsford, N.Y.) won all three of their matches in the #3 spot (8-2, 8-4, 8-3), while Aaron Ribchinsky (Ivorytown, Conn.)/Mike Bobitski (Fort Meyers, Fla.) achieved the same feat in Flight #4 (8-2, 8-0, 8-3).
Cook and Bobitski also won their singles matches in Flights #6 and #8, resepctively. In the #6 singles match, Cook defeated Boston University's Jon Brenner, 1-6, 6-0, (10-6), while Bobitski won 6-3, 6-3 over Dillon Krauw of Quinnipiac.
Christian Malerba (Derby, Conn.) was also victorious in singles action, taking down Tom Curran of Quinnipiac in a long three-set match, 6-4, 2-6, (10-8).
The Huskies will return to action tomorrow at the Bucknell Invitational.
