Gina Heiderman Named to BIG EAST Volleyball Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (September 5, 2006) – University of Connecticut volleyball player Gina Heiderman (Niles, Ill.) has been named to the BIG EAST’s weekly honor roll after earning Tournament MVP honors at the Gonzaga Volleyball Classic this past weekend.
The junior middle blocker recorded 33 kills with a hitting percentage of .456 over the course of the three matches. She recorded a match-high 13 kills and hit an impressive .677 in the win over Gardner-Webb to close out tournament play on Saturday.
The Huskies (4-0) won the Gonzaga Volleyball Classic after defeating Gonzaga, Portland State and Gardner-Webb, each in only three games. UConn looks to stay undefeated when they travel to take on Northeastern, Wednesday, Sept. 6. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
