Women's Cross Country Takes Second at Ted Owens Invitational

New Britain, Conn. (September 16, 2006) - Senior Jillian Sullivan (Bristol, Conn.) finished second at the Ted Owens Invitational in a time of 17:41 to lead the University of Connecticut women's cross country team to a second place finish on Saturday, September 16.
UConn finished second only Boston University, who is currently ranked first in the region.
"We were very solid up front today," distance coach Kim McGreevy said. "Jillian had another great performance and showed why she is such a great senior leader."
Junior Orliath Cunningham (Branford, Conn.) finished tenth for the Huskies in 19:16. UConn's next three runners finished 10th, 11th and 12th by sophomore Kate Vaughan (Bethel Park, Pa.), freshman Nicki Junod (Cicero, N.Y) and sophomore Rebecca McCollum (Monroe, Conn.), respectively.
The Huskies will travel to State College, Pa., next weekend to compete at the Spike Shoe Invitational hosted by Penn State.
