STORRS, Conn. (April 15) -- Aaron Ribchinsky was a winner at No. 6 singles but the University of Connecticut men's tennis team lost by a 6-1 score to Rutgers on Saturday afternoon at the UConn Tennis Courts. UConn dips to 5-11 on the year with the loss while the Scarlet Knights up their mark to 6-9.
Rutgers took the doubles point but it was not a clean sweep as Nate Carvalho and Michael Bobitski teamed up for a 9-7 Husky win at No. 3. Singles action saw the Scarlet Knights take each of the top five matches in straight sets. The Huskies got a point though at the bottom of the lineup as Ribchinsky toppled Dale Madan, 7-6, 6-4 in a tight contest.
The Huskies return to action on Monday when they travel to face St. John's.
