STORRS, Conn. (March 21) -- Christian Malerba and Joey Michaels teamed up for a win at No. 3 doubles, but that would be the University of Connecticut men's tennis team's lone win in a 6-0 loss to Quinnipiac on Tuesday afternoon at the UConn Tennis Courts. UConn dips to 2-8 this spring with the loss while the Bobcats up their mark to 6-4.
Despite Malerba and Michaels' 8-6 win over Jon Russo and Tom Curran, Quinnipiac took the doubles point by winning the top two matches. In singles, Quinnipiac took five of the six matches in straight sets. The closest match of the day was left incomplete at number five where QU's Goldy Sherrill led Malerba 6-4, 1-4 when it was deemed too dark to continue.
The Huskies return to action on Monday when it plays host to Sacred Heart at 2:00 p.m.
