Swimming Continues Participation at the U.S. Open

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (December 1, 2006) – The University of Connecticut swimming team continued competition at the U.S. Open on Friday.
Lisa Shelps (Quakertown, Pa.) placed 68th in the 100 backstroke event with a 1:08.02 finish.
Katie DeVinney (Avondale, Ariz.) swam a 1:05.48 in the 100 breaststroke, good enough for a 68th place finish.
Sean Hannan (Clifton Park, N.Y.) took 70th place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.20.
The women's 400 freestyle relay team consisting of Shelps, DeVinney, Danielle Sanders (Mississauga, Ontario) and Sarah Kearns (Milford, Mass.) placed 34th with a time of 4:39.57.
UConn will continue its participation on Saturday in the U.S. Open with 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 1500 freestyle competition.UConn vs BC Swim Meet
