Men's Swimming and Diving Races Past Army, 157-143
STORRS, Conn. (November 11, 2006) – Three swimmers won a pair of events each to lead the men’s swimming and diving team to a 157-143 win over Army on Saturday afternoon in the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium.
With the win the men move to a perfect 3-0 in dual meet competition this season.
Tristan Jones (Canberra, Australia) won the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM, Abed Kaaki (Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia) took the 50 and 100 freestyle events and Adrian Astiz (Bethesda, Md.) swept the 100 and 200 butterfly races.
Chris Ferreira (Madison, Conn.) won the 100 backstroke event.
Connecticut will return to action on Thursday, November 16, when they travel to the University of Maryland’s Terrapin Cup. The event will take place over the course of three days at the Campus Recreation Center Natatorium located on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.
