"Jillian trains very hard and I'm very pleased with how she raced today," distance coach Kim McGreevy said. "She's a great athlete and continues to show why she is one of the top runners in the BIG EAST."
Sophomore Kate Vaughan (Bethel Park, Pa.) was the next UConn finisher in 36th with a time of 19:00. Junior Orlaith Cunningham (Branford, Conn.) was 50th in 19:08 while sophomore Rebecca McCollum (Monroe, Conn.) finished 56th (19:15).
"As a team we need to figure out why we've been underachieving," McGreevy said. "But we always keep our heads up and we're going to keep working to get better."
The Huskies race next at the Central Connecticut mini meet on Saturday, October 21.
