STORRS, Conn. (Sept. 19) -- The University of Connecticut’s football game at Army on Saturday, Oct. 1 will kick off at 12:00 noon at the Cadets’ fabled Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. The game will be broadcast live nationally on ESPNU.
The game will be the second of at least five national television appearances for the Huskies in 2005. ESPN2 will air UConn’s home game against Syracuse on Oct. 7 and its contest at West Virginia on Nov. 2, while ESPN is slated to carry the Huskies’ home finale on Dec. 3 when the team plays host to Louisville at Rentschler Field. ESPNU also aired last weekend’s game at Georgia Tech. Additional games can be added to the television schedule as the season progresses, with announcements to come 12 days before each game.
The UConn-Army game will also be available on ESPN360 -- a high-speed internet video content offering that delivers on-demand video to broadband subscribers. This service will be available to anyone on the UConn computer network free of charge. To access the game, go to ESPN.com and select the ESPN360 icon. This service is also available to subscribers of select high speed internet providers nationally.
The Huskies are 2-1 thus far in 2005 and stand at 2-1 all-time against the Black Knights of the Hudson, including a 48-21 win on Sept. 6, 2003 in their last trip to West Point, and a 40-3 victory on Sept. 25 of last year at a sold out Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
