Diving Dominates at Rutgers Super Splash

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 3, 2005) - The University of Connecticut diving team wrapped up competition at the Rutgers Super Splash placing six divers in the top eight of the men’s one meter dive and the women’s three meter dive. UConn was the only team to have three divers in both of today’s finals with 10 teams being represented.
T.J. Ferguson (Plainville, Conn.) was victorious in the one meter dive with a final score of 501.7. Kevin Thompson (Stamford, Conn.) and Michael Clifford (West Islip, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the men finishing in fourth (444) and eighth place (426), respectively.
Liza Marianni (Cherry Hill, N.J.) captured second place in the three meter dive to lead the women’s team (487). Allison Coleman (New Canaan, Conn.) and Lauren Jacob (Elmira, N.Y.) mirrored Thompson and Clifford of the men’s team finishing in fourth (436) and eighth (370.9) place.
The diving team will return to action on Saturday, January 21 when they host Syracuse at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium in Storrs.
