UConn Volleyball Shuts Down Fairfield, 3-0

STORRS, Conn. (Sept. 29) -- The University of Connecticut (6-5) downed Fairfield University (8-8), 3-0 in non-conference women’s volleyball action at Gampel Pavilion Wednesday evening by the scores of 30-25, 30-18 and 30-27.
Captains Jamie Hadenfeldt (Benicia, Calif.) and Megan Crawley (Georgetown, Texas) led the Huskies’ attack with 15 kills apiece, while sophomore Kaity Craig (Terryville, Conn.) chipped in 10 kills. Junior setter Jenny Neelands (Gainesville, Fla.) added 45 assists and a match-high 19 digs and freshman Brittany Stewart (Dolton, Ill.) totaled 17 digs.
Jazmin Pa’akaula had a team-best eight kills for the Stags to go with two service aces and 11 digs. Lauren Laramore registered 12 digs and Keri Kaiser contributed 21 assists.
UConn next travels to New Brunswick, N.J. on October 1st and 2nd, for the BIG EAST Challenge and faces Villanova in the first match of the tournament on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
