Huskies Add Recruit for 2004

STORRS, CT (May 12) - UConn volleyball coach Kelli Myers has announced the signing of an additional recruit for the 2004 season. Ashley Robbins, a native of Norco, Calif., will join the team as a freshman this fall.
Robbins is a three-year varsity letterwinner from Norco High School where she was coached by Tinette Schierbeek. Robbins was named All-League and Player of the Year as a senior, and was named best offensive player as a junior and senior. In her junior year, Robbins earned the title of most improved.
Says Coach Myers about Robbins, "We are excited about the addition of Ashley and what she brings to our program. She adds depth to our outside hitting position and is a strong athlete with a great deal of potential. Her fun loving personality will be a great asset to our team."
Robbins is the fourth signed recruit for next season, joining Nicole Boyd (Arlington, Texas), Sade Chambers (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Brittany Stewart (Dolton, Ill.).
