Jacquelyn Craft Qualifies for NCAA Championships

COLLEGE STATION, TX (March 17) - Freshman Jacquelyn Craft will represent the University of Connecticut at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, from March 18-20 at Texas A&M’s Student Recreation Center Natatorium in College Station. Craft has qualified for the 200 breaststroke, an event that will be contested on Saturday, March 20.
Craft posted the 15th best time in the nation this winter with the school record 2:14.03 that she recorded to win the event at the BIG EAST Championships on February 21. One of 44 swimmers to qualify for the NCAA 200 breaststroke field, Craft is the third-highest seeded freshman in the nation, trailing only seventh-seeded Elizabeth Tinnon of No. 6 Texas and 10th-seeded Melissa Klein of No. 2 Georgia. Saturday’s preliminaries begin at 12:00 p.m. ET. The top eight swimmers advance to the finals while the next eight advance to the consolation round. Both the final and consolation commence at 8:00 p.m. ET.
