UConn Volleyball Slams Quinnipiac, 3-0

STORRS, Conn. (Oct. 6) -- The University of Connecticut (8-6) women’s volleyball team downed Quinnipiac (2-12) in three straight games, 30-13, 30-22 and 30-18 to earn a 3-0 victory at Gampel Pavilion Wednesday evening.
Senior tri-captain Jamie Hadenfeldt (Benicia, Calif.) led the Huskies’ attack with 12 kills while also contributing a team-best 12 digs and two service aces. Junior tri-captain Megan Crawley (Georgetown, Texas) added 10 kills and three blocks and classmate Jenny Neelands (Gainesville, Fla.) posted 33 assists, nine digs and two service aces.
Kalyn Hundley was the only Bobcats player to register a double-digit total kills as she tallied 11 to go along with five digs. Stephanie Conde was a bright spot in the Quinnipiac offense, recording five services aces in game two, with four of the five coming consecutively. Janka Lopatto chipped in with 21 assists and Danielle Erickson registered a match-high 13 digs.
Connecticut opens BIG EAST play this weekend, as the team faces Villanova at home on Saturday, October 9, at 2:00 p.m.
