Mullen Named Northeast Region Athlete of the Year

STORRS, CT (March 13) - Nineteen NCAA Division I track and field athletes have been named Mondo Indoor Regional Athletes of the Year in voting by coaches, the Division I Coaches Association of the U.S. Track Coaches Association announced Wednesday.
Deirdre Mullen (Princeton, NJ) of the University of Connecticut was named the Northeast region’s women’s track and field athlete of the year. Mullen set a BIG EAST record in winning the high jump at 6-0.5 and was also the ECAC Champion.
Mullen, along with the 18 other regional athletes, will be honored on March 13 at the coaches’ banquet held prior to the NCAA Division I indoor track and field championships at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Men’s and women’s Mondo National Athletes of the Year for indoor track will be named next week.
