Huskies Find Success at UConn Invitational

STORRS, CT (Oct. 6) - Joe Mercuri (Wallingford, CT) advanced to the finals of the Flight D Singles, and Brian Ravesloot (Tuscon, AZ) advanced to the semifinal round in the Flight B Singles at the UConn Invitational held in Storrs, CT on Oct. 4-5. Mercuri was eventually defeated by Matt Jacobson of Stony Brook 6-2, 6-2. He found success in doubles as well, advancing to the finals of the Flight B Doubles with George Rzepecki (Farmington, CT) where the pair were defeated by a score of 8-4.
UConn’s top singles player Andy Sweatt (Reno, NV) played in the Flight A Singles where he defeated Steven George of Sacred Heart by a score of 6-3, 6-2 before falling in three sets to Dustin Parente of Rhode Island in the quarterfinals.
The men’s team returns to action Wednesday, October 8, when they host Marist in a dual match at 3:00 p.m.
