Huskies Finish Second at Army

West Point, NY (January 18) - The University of Connecticut women’s indoor track and field team grabbed seven first-place finishes at Army on Saturday. The team finished second with 165 points, just four points behind hosting Army, who finished first.
UConn’s first top finish came from April Garner (Temple Hills, MD) in the 55 meter hurdles. Sharmaine Abrams (Manchester, CT) took first in the 400 meter run, before rookie Kourtney Trainor (Braintree, MA) finished first in the 800 meter run. In the 200 meter dash, Antonia Cadore (North York, Ontario) led the pack. UConn runners dominated the 300 meter as four of the top six finishers were Huskies, led by Kristen Meyer (Hillsborough, NJ).
Kafi Davis (Norwich, CT) topped the competition in the long jump as Deirdre Mullen (Princeton, NJ) rounded out the first-place finishes in the high jump.
