Connecticut Continues Outstanding Play at Day Two of UConn Invitational

STORRS, CT (Sept. 29, 2002) - The University of Connecticut men’s tennis team continued their outstanding play Sunday, at the annual UConn Invitational at the UConn Tennis Courts. The Huskies played extremely well wining two singles titles and one doubles titles, along with placing one other singles player and one other doubles team in the finals.
The individual singles titles for the Huskies were won by junior Andy Sweatt (Reno, NV) in No. 3 singles and sophomore Brian Ravesloot (Tucson, AZ) at No. 4 singles. UConn won the doubles title in No. 2 doubles with the team of sophomore Alex Ningas (New London, CT) and freshman Matt Stinson (Orinda, CA). Senior Mike Furman (Allentown, PA) was the only other play who reached the finals in No. 1 singles. Furman then teamed with senior Joe Lang (Winchester, MA) as the only other doubles team to reach the finals in No.1 doubles.
Connecticut returns to action Fri.-Sun., Oct. 11, at the Penn State Invitational in Happy Valley, PA.
