Huskies Defeat Rhode Island, 6-1

KINGSTON, RI (Sept. 25, 2002) - The University of Connecticut men’s tennis team defeated Rhode Island, 6-1 , on Wed. Sept. 25, in Kingston, RI. UConn won two of three double matches and five of six singles matches for their second straight dual victory.
The Huskies were led by seniors Mike Furman (Allentown, PA) and Joe Lang (Winchester, MA), who each won their singles matches at No.1 and No. 2 respectively. The two then teamed to win at No.1 double to help the Huskies earn the doubles point.
The Huskies return to action on Sat.-Sun., Sept. 28-29, as they host the UConn Invitational at the UConn Tennis Courts.
